Jan studied Film and Television Production at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf from 2012 to 2016.
Prior to his studies, he produced four short films at the KHM. He has worked with directors such as Isabel Prahl—whose graduation film Ausreichend received the prestigious First Steps Award in 2012—and Henning Beckhoff.
In 2014, he began developing the series project Meteoriten together with Ingo Monitor. The project resulted in a comprehensive pitch package and received the Startbüro Scholarship (2018) from the Filmuniversität Babelsberg and the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg to develop and market the series. It was pitched to an international audience at the Content London Drama Summit in 2017.
