Movies are stories telling us about what it means to be “human”. Going to the movies is like visiting a temple, because afterwards we see the world a little different than before.

I love to tell stories about characters who are confronted with supernatural mysteries, who glance into their own self-destructive abysses or fight against all odds to escape society’s moral chains. Drama, magical realism, larger than life.

Jan has been dedicated to filmmaking since 2008, with his works screened and awarded at national and international film festivals.

From 2012 to 2016, he studied Film and Television Production at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam, Germany, where his graduation film Meterostrasse was presented at the Berlinale 2016.

Alongside his directing, he has been writing his own screenplays for many years and has gained extensive experience in story development and dramaturgy. Since 2017, he has also been working as a freelance editor, including  the 7x30’ documentary series Bahnsinn Riedbahn, bringing a refined sense of rhythm, narrative structure, and visual storytelling to his work.

Having worked in various roles (production, directing, editing, writing), he understands the needs and workflows of all departments. This unique combination of artistic vision, narrative insight, technical expertise, and practical production experience makes him a versatile and reliable collaborator.
